Property Tax Adjusters, Ltd. is a pioneer in the business of saving homeowner’s money on their property taxes. The company was founded in 1990 by Marsha Held and Elyse Sachs.

Marsha and Elyse bring a diverse 50 years of real estate expertise. They combine their experience with a personalized in-depth analysis of each of their client’s homes to maximize their tax savings.

Marsha Held President

President of Property Tax Adjusters, Ltd. Marsha received her BA from Kenyon College in 1972 and her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and Statistics from SUNY Albany in 1979. In 1980 Marsha co-founded Bridge Hampton Real Estate, negotiating large home and land sales on the South Fork of Suffolk County. Marsha was also a hearing officer for Suffolk County, Nassau County and New York City; settling property tax disputes between homeowners and their respective municipality.

In 1991, Marsha decided she would be more helpful to homeowners by directly representing them in these tax disputes and co-founded Property Tax Adjusters Ltd with her partner, Elyse Sachs.

Elyse Sachs Vice President

Vice President of Property Tax Adjusters, Ltd. Elyse graduated cum laude from NYU with a BA in 1982 and law degree from CUNY Law School in 1986. Elyse worked for several high profile firms in New York City and Long Island, including the Law Office of Dominic A. Barbara. During these years Elyse litigated multimillion dollar cases dealing with construction, zoning, eminent domain and taxation.

After first hand witnessing unjust biases towards property owners, Elyse together with Marsha formed Property Tax Adjusters so that they could help homeowners lower their property taxes.

Elyse is also a partner at Popper and Sachs LLP where she practices labor law and Article 78 proceedings.
